The Prestigious Ohnd History 2005-2006
Ohnd started as a small family clan under the name of [VIP] (Very Important People), aptly named by Lolita, back in January of 2005.
The clan consisted of:
Candyman and Reaper (Lolita’s twin brothers)
Gladium and Mamita (Their parents)
Lolita and I (back then boyfriend – now fiancé)
Being in a ‘clan’ was a lot of fun, and it wasn’t long before people started asking if they could join. As we had no real idea of what a clan was or what they did, we denied all of these requests, stating “It’s just a tag.” (Which was, in essence, actually true).
But these requests did not stop, so we decided to start our own ‘proper’ clan.
We wanted to start fresh though, with a new name. I came up with the name ohnd, but it was the creative effort of Candyman, Reaper and I that put the clans identity together. We spent about half a day testing out all the special characters available in source, and that’s why I think our clan tag really stands out to this day.
Ohnd went ‘official’ by joining the GA ladder in March of 2005.
It wasn’t long before we were again being asked by people to join, the very first being neester. It was quite an official invite, to this day, he is the only one that received a personalised “welcome to ohnd” graphic included in the welcome email.
Other friends started to catch onto the trend…
Lolita, Reaper and I were working at Galactic Circus, where we worked under a manger of the name BIG_FANNY.
We all became very close to this BIG_FANNY, and he joined our clan soon after its beginning as well.
Clinton, one of our newest members was one of the regulars came into Galactic Circus, nearly every Saturday night.
Diaz and Mucha Loocha went to the same high school as Lolita and I, but were 2 years younger, in the same grade as Candyman and Reaper.
Our relationship with clan love started with such a random coincidence (or was it fate?) and grew into what it is today.
We first met Clan Love, back in the day, when server 2 was the place to be. Back when we were all still playing under the [VIP] tag. Someone started talking about university, and what subject’s people were doing. It turned out Vasco and I were in the same course, same university, except I was a year ahead.
So we just started chatting – Love showed us how to get onto the ladder and how to run wars correctly, back when the ladder was still in free play mode.
Since that day, we have recruited many, lost a few, but become not just a clan, but a community.
I really couldn’t be happier with how the clan is going right now, and the quality of all the people involved.
You really are all true assets to the clan, and all of your distinct personalities really make Ohnd a clan that people want to be a part of.
I’m glad that we have been able to give the clan a new direction with the dedicated war team, and it hasn’t broken the community that we have been moulding over the years.
All I can say is; I really hope you are all enjoying being a part of this clan, as much as I am enjoying running it – Heres to a great past, and a great future.
Much Love,
d3v
