So. Hacked Accounts

Seems that at least Josh and maybe Myke have had their steam accounts hacked.

What's been happening with this hack is the hacked accounts will ask people to beta test a game they made. There is no game. Its a virus designed as a game. the virus is a keylogger, but fortunately it doesn't seem to spread itself to everything and make it impossible to remove.

The virus will place itself in "C:\Users\*YOURNAMEHERE*\AppData\Roaming\AWSD9784156" and disguise itself as a system critical file that can't be deleted. It's also going to fuck around in your registry a bit so clean out any mess it leaves. The way i removed it was by starting up a linux live CD and deleting the virus folder because linux doesn't give a shit about "system critical files"

also. i'm aware downloading it was stupid... but a warning to you all. Don't download betas from friends unless you can verify its actually them

yeah doing so already dsin, but when the link came from a mate who actually did game design I honestly thought it was ok. That'll teach me to download anything given to me in links anymore.

Kye got her account hacked too, although it was slightly different and had to do with free steam games.

The one for Kye was the usual obvious bad link, but I didn't pick the josh one, but the scammer was so stupid he didn't give me the link when I talked to him for a bit.

Bringing this up again, just got a very suspicious msg from Cheshire, with a link to an obvious fishing site. Looks like he's been done
